Rensselaer's Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering department is delighted to welcome Dr. Hunter Belanger. Dr. Belanger's research focuses on Monte Carlo methods for high-fidelity simulation of radiation transport in non-homogeneous media, the development of exact weight cancellation strategies for estimating higher eigenstates of the flux in reactors, and the simulation of neutron noise in power reactors. This work is critical for nuclear reactor safety and may have applications in health physics.
